San Facundo 2018 -- SUNDAY October 21st @ 5:45a
Well, you thought the year would go by without San Facundo challenging you to a fall test of your faith, fortune, and fitness. But here we are in September and though it may be snowing later in October, San Facundo will be waiting to greet as upon our return. A date has been set and we will ride.
Through your preparation and prayers
Your suffering and sacrifices
You've spun through spring and summer
In snow, gravel, road, and sun
Now the air is cooling
San Facundo appears saying
It's time for the faithful to roll
It's time to save your cycling soul
TIME & PLACE --- SUNDAY October 21st from Rustica Bakery (north side of Lake Bde Maka Ska) --- rain or shine. Rolling at 5:45a sharp so be there a bit early if you normally run late.
RIDE PLAN --- Finish clock-time century in <5hrs, returning to Rustica where San Facundo himself will appear (in form of a free pastry or possibly in robe on roller skates).
ROUTE --- open for suggestions --- please share ideas --- may adjust so the 100mi mark is outside of town by 5 miles or so to avoid high speed approaches into stroller zones.
WARNING -- Don't be distracted if San Facundo should begin to communicate to you mid-ride. Remember also that evil spirits may occasion the ride speaking in the voice of Facundo --- they are to be ignored -- they are not he!
WHO'S IN? --- several of you have invoked the spirit of San Facundo --- the list will build. Comment on this blog or send an email if your are in --- I will compile a roster.
