San Facundo 2017 -- SUNDAY September 17th
5:45a -- Start/Finish @ Rustica --- 100mi in 5hrs (save your cycling soul)

 TO the FAITHFUL


 (poem revised -- not to be confused with the Ode to San Facundo which is a separate thing altogether)

    Through great suffering you have spun
    In snow, gravel, road, and sun
    Now, as the coolness arrives in the air
    San Facundo appears
    Says the holy must roll
    Time to redeem your cycling soul


TIME & PLACE --- SATURDAY Sept 17th from Rustica Bakery (north side of Lake Calhoun) --- rain or shine.  Rolling at 5:45a sharp so be there a bit early if you run late or need coffee.

RIDE PLAN --- finish clock-time century in <5hrs, returning to Rustica where San Facundo himself will appear (in form of a free pastry or possibly in robe on roller skates).  

WARNING -- Don't be distracted if he communicates to you mid-ride, and remember that evil spirits may occasion the ride speaking in the voice of Facundo --- they are to be ignored -- they are not he!

WHO'S IN? --- several of you have invoked the spirit of Facundo --- the list will build. Comment on this blog or send an email if your are in --- I will compile a roster.

OPEN to ALL ---- if you know other riders ready to pour their spiritual wattage, please do share this officious communication with them.  The more the holier!

Hey all - A bit late in coming, but since several of you have inquired with great curiosity as to what fate befell our group last Sunday.......I will offer a recap below, free of flourish and fabrications, expletives and exaggerations. Early last Sunday, a group of 7 lighted riders met at the corner of Minnehaha and 50th street to take on this year's 5hr century challenge. The Facundo.  It started with a reading to San Facundo, praising his miracle of turning rubber band to rope, and thanking him for holding tools and things (see attached). Well, you thought the year would go by without San Facundo challenging you to a fall test of your faith, fortune, and fitness.  But here we are in September and though it may be snowing later in October, San Facundo will be waiting to greet as upon our return.  A date has been set and we will ride.
